Principal Bobier announces retirement

By Julie Ann Madden

She’s hanging up her coaching whistle, handing out her last few disciplinary actions and cleaning out her desk at the end of this school year.

Akron-Westfield Grades Preschool – 6 Principal Cathy Bobier submitted her retirement notice to the Akron-Westfield School Board at their March monthly meeting.

“It was a very difficult decision to decide to retire because of how much I’ve loved the job — working in education has been very fulfiling,” said Bobier, who is ending her 37th year of working in education. “I always hope I’ve been a positive influence on everybody I’ve been able to work with.”
