A-W qualifies for state jazz

Akron-Westfield Vocal Music Director Ryan Schuknecht announced this high school jazz choir named “Groove It or Lose It” has made the state jazz competition. The state contest will take place Tuesday, April 7 at Morningside College in Sioux City. The group finished second at the University of University of South Dakota’s Coyote Jazz Fest on March 17. They performed March 18 in the annual A-W Pops Concert. “Groove It or Lose It” members are Marlenne Arreola, Alex Fanker, Alexis Hageman, Kali Kriener, Sydney Pridie, Ryleigh Schnell, Kelcie Wakeman, Cali Westergard, Hunter Armstrong, Dylan Blinde, Ryan Foley, Jackson Gereau, Brenden Moore, Jacob Neubrand, Nick Schnell and Cameron Wahlberg.     Commissioners approve resolution banning burning
