It’s here! The Akron Fire Department has a new fire engine, and it’s named “Engine 13” after one of Akron’s own firefighters. The number is the late Firefighter Barry Small’s helmet number. Small died in his own house fire in 2002. This new engine cost $389,650. As of Friday, it hadn’t been to its first fire call yet, said Akron Fire Chief Shane Coyle. Its first call ended with a “disregard” command.
