With a year in the former Akron medical clinic building, Akron councilors unanimously approved extending its lease to Clayton Jacobson for Jacobson Auto Parts.

At their March 14 meeting. Councilor Jenell Lanning made the motion to extend the lease with the new monthly rental fee of $350 per month and Councilor Alex Pick seconded it. The vote was 4-0 with Councilor Kasey Mitchell absent.

In other business, the Council:

• Unanimously approved a resolution certifying utility rates and/or charges to Plymouth County Treasurer Shelly Sitzmann. This annual action is so that city officials can place liens on properties which have tenants or owners who did not pay their utility bills.

• Unanimously approved a resolution proposing to sell the Village South Apartments, aka Six-Plex, to Zabroz of South Dakota LLC and setting a public hearing on the sale at their March 28 meeting.
