Pioneer Village Christmas’ Schedule announced

The Pioneer Village Christmas Wonderland will be held the first two weekends in December at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds in Le Mars. There is no charge for these activities so bring the whole family and your friends.

Each Saturday and Sunday evening, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., is filled with family fun activities. It all begins at 6 p.m. with the Sertoma Lighted Christmas Parade — from Eighth Street SW and Central Avenue and continues down Central Avenue to the Plymouth County Fairgrounds.

Entertainment is coordinated by Bill and Janice Renken of Brunsville with assistance of Tom Mullally, sound system; and Jim Rohlfs, photographer.

Saturday, Dec. 2

6:30 p.m. Le Mars Flute Choir: Kathy Moore, Glenda Drennen, Lynn Gross, Sue Ashenfelt, Nathan Rolofson

7:00 p.m. Tribute to Honor Veterans – Marlyn Renken & Legionnaires from Brunsville (Commander & Adjustant Miles DcDougall) and Le Mars (Bud Vander Well), Sons of American Legion – Brunsville. Vocalist Marv Renken accompanied by Jeanette Jensen.

7:30 p.m.: Message of Christmas – vocalist/guitarist Allyn Anderson

8:00 p.m. Country Music Association member, vocalist and guitarist Leonard Berg of Brunsville, He has recoreded 13 albums and is a Brunsville legionnaire.

Sunday, Dec. 3

5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Justin and Ellie Popenery, keyboard player, guitarist and vocalist; and vocalists Kate Breaver and Malt Chihak

6:30 p.m.: Stanton Lucky Clovers 4- Club vocalists and pianists. Leaders: Debra Ahlers, Nancy Zubrod & Jennifer Bockelmann

7:00 p.m.: Vocalists Tom and Patti Mullaly, drummer Bev Peterson, Harmonica player Don Thomas, vocalist/guitarist Richard Kommes, Accordion and harmonica palyer Jerry Toft, of Hawarden, Art Ashley of Leeds; Tom Paschol of Cherokee, and Bruce Butcher.

Saturday, Dec. 9

5:30 p.m. Christmas Caroling Sing-A-Long with Rev. Don & Donna Studley family & friends: Laurie Cord of Brunsville, Dave Fenderson, Kaitlyn Norfolk, and Evan and Kaycee Studley of Westfield.

6:00 p.m. Pianist/Vocalists Pat Bottjen and Mini Brandt

6:30 p.m. For Kix Dance Studio of Hinton – Wee Petites, Wee Kix and Middle Jazz director by Bree Vanheeder

7:00 p.m. Gehlen Catholic Christmas Vocals directed by terra Falkena with Wind Ensemble Director Paul Niebuhr

Sunday, Dec. 10

5:30 p.m. Franklin Kindergarten Class with teachers Steph Becker and Heather Plathe

7:00 p.m.: Le Mars Community Middle School Flute Ensemble directed by Mary Kay Benton with Vocal Director Nancy Eqing

7:30 p.m. Hinton High School Dance Team directed by Bree Vanheeder and assisted by Destany Kirby

8:20 p.m.: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year (take trees down).
