NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CONVEYANCE OF REAL PROPERTY

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors of the Akron-Westfield Community

School District will hold a public hearing on the 8th day of January, 2018, at 6:30 P.M. central

time, at the School Library, 850 Kerr Drive, Akron, Iowa, on the conveyance of property to Basil

R. Price and Angela D. Price, their successors and/or assigns, of real estate owned by the District

located at 241 Mill Street, Akron, Iowa, and legally described as follows:

Lot Two (2) in Block Two (2) and Lot Three (3), EXCEPT the West 16 Feet thereof, all

in Block Two (2) in the Town of Portlandville, now the Town of Akron, State of Iowa

AND

A strip of land 60.73 feet in length commencing 39.1 feet south of the NW corner of Lot

one (1) on the West lot line (Point A) and ending 45.5 feet north of the SW corner of Lot

one (1) on the West lot line (Point B) in Block two (2), in the Town of Portlandville, now

the Town of Akron, Plymouth County, Iowa all as set forth on the Plat of Survey

prepared by David L. Wilberding in December of 2016 that surveys Lot 2 and Lot 3

(except the West 16 feet) all in Block two (2), in the Town of Portlandville, now the

Town of Akron, Plymouth County, Iowa that describes Point A and Point B as the

corners of the existing building of Lot two (2) that extend easterly across the boundary

line of Lot one (1). The width of this strip of land will be 0.9 feet starting at Point A and

1.1 feet at Point B.

At the time and place set for the public hearing, interested individuals will be given the

opportunity to express their views, both orally and in writing, on the following:

Proposal to sell the Property to Basil R. Price and Angela D. Price, their successors

and/or assigns, for $9,000.00 and other valuable consideration.

The proposal may be subject to conditions as may be stated either in the proposal, the

Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Akron-Westfield Community School District, or

documents entered into between the parties.

A copy of the proposal may be reviewed at the office of the Secretary of the Board of the

Akron-Westfield Community District, located at 850 Kerr Drive, Akron, Iowa.

After the public hearing, the Board may make a final determination to accept or reject the

proposal as submitted, or upon condition that certain terms be changed, or the Board may defer

action on any or all of the proposals until a subsequent meeting.
