The first major snowstorm struck with a vengeance. The snow began Sunday evening and continued into Monday. Reports guessed that up to 18” could fall in some areas before it was all done sometime Monday. At the time of these photos over 6” had already fallen and the snow was coming down in white-out conditions. City crews were out early to try and keep up with the snow. A blizzard warning was out for the area from 9 p.m. Sunday to midnight Monday. Most activities in the area were cancelled along with classes at Akron-Westfield school.
