Five Westerners make All Conference basketball

Five Akron-Westfield basketball players were named War Eagle All Conference in Class 1A.


For the girls junior Brooke Koele was a unanimous selection for First Team. She attempted 267 field goals making 139 for 52.1 percent and attempted 10 3-point shots making three for 30 percent. She was the leading scorer for A-W averaging 13.3 points per game and leader in blocks with 109.

Second Team: senior Brynn Van Eldik. She attempted 196 field goals making 79 for 40.3 percent. She averaged 8.1 points per game and led the team in total rebounds with 231, assists with 61, and steals with 82.

Honorable Mention: senior Danika Smith. She attempted 247 field goals making 70 for 28.3 percent and attempted 158 3-point shots making 35 for 22.2 percent. She averaged 8.2 points per game.


For the boys junior Nick Jacobs was named to the First Team. He made 146 field goals out of 367 attempted for 39.8 percent and attempted 250 3-pointers making 100 for 40 percent. He led the team in scoring averaging 20.5 points per game. He was one of the best 3-point shooters in the country.

Honorable Mention: senior Conner Anderson. He made 113 field goals out of 271 attempts for 41.7 percent and attempted 172 3-point shots making 63 for 36.6 percent. He averaged 13.3 points per game.
