County’s new pond has a name

Rivers Bend Wildlife Area will be the name of the new Plymouth County Conservation Board site south of Akron at the west end 180th Street.
The area includes a pond and boat ramp. The land was part of a land swap with Higman Sand and Gravel.
The name won over two others by generating the most money at the Plymouth County Fair.
“We got $9,” said Plymouth County Conservation Executive Director Dennis Sohl.
