Several new faces at A-W Community School

Several have been hired for Akron-Westfield Community School the last few months.

They are:

Mollie (Ostrihonsky) Burke

Mollie Burke is A-W’s new Title I & Guided Reading teacher at Akron-Westfield.

Casey (Armstrong) Jacobs

Casey Jacobs is changing from student to teacher’s aide. Jacobs will be in the classroom of High School Special Education teacher Amy Johnson. The former A-W Danz Squad member will also be one of A-W’s cheerleading sponsor this Fall.

Angie Jensen

A Hawarden native will be one of the cheerleading co-sponsors.

Angie (Baker) Jensen graduated from West Sioux High School in 1989.

Matthew Jongeling

Matthew Jongeling will join retired Industrial Arts teacher Dan Utesch in the Industrial Arts classroom.

Laurie Liebetrau

Monitoring students in Study Hall will be Laurie Liebetrau of Akron, S.D.

Laura Lofton

A-W’s new part-time art teacher is Laura Lofton, a native of Milwaukee, Wis. She will be teaching art to Grades Dk-7.

Dustin Meinen

Dustin Meinen is stepping up to be A-W’s head wrestling coach after being a volunteer coach for the past two years.

The Class of 2000 A-W alumnus

Chad Morrow

Last year’s A-W’s volunteer wrestling coach Chad Morrow will be the assistant wrestling coach this year.

Angie Rabbitt

Angie Rabbit will be teaching science to Grades 6-12 along with teaching sophomores biology at A-W this fall.
