Akron-Westfield visited West Sioux in youth football on Sept. 8 in third-fourth grade and fifth-sixth grade contests. Both squads’ Team No. 2 teams squared off in Hawarden.

Third-Fourth Game

In the first Third-Fourth Grade game, West Sioux scored two touchdowns and two-point conversions in the first half and hung on for a 16-0 win.

Zach Steckkelberg and Jason Topete scored the touchdowns. The Falcons then celebrated by singing the school song and ringing the victory bell.

Jody Anderson is the Third and Fourth Grade Head coach for West Sioux with assistants Casey Gerritson and Kelly Eisma.

Fourth-Fifth Grade Game

A-W won the Fifth-Sixth Grade battle, 24-8. Trenton Frerichs and Nicholas Jacobs did the touchdown scoring. Coaches are Scott Jacobs, Doug Olson, Brian Frerichs and Nate Roberts.

Overall, it was a perfect day for football. After all youth games, sportsmanship is showed as both teams shake hands.
