Jayne Maree Black of Hailey, ID, passed from this earth June 22, 2012, in the loving arms of her family.
Jayne was the eldest daughter of Marvin and Elna Black. She graduated from Akron Community High School in 1973. In 1976 Jayne graduated from Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) as a medical laboratory technician, and in 1980 received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern College in Orange City.
Jayne was a small business owner and spent most of her professional life as a medical laboratory assistant in Rapid City, SD, and Hailey, ID, Her interests included international travel, quilting, spiritual awareness, gourmet cooking, and gardening. She loved to see things grow and thrive, whether it was her nieces and nephews, her beloved dogs, or her garden. She loved to laugh and authored many a practical joke.
Survivors include her mother, Elna; six siblings: Barbara of California, Linda of Colorado, Marvin of Iowa City, Cy of Virginia, Mike of Illinois, and Mark of South Dakota; five nieces: Jessica, Morgan, Rachel, Melissa, and Jordan; five nephews: Christopher, Kyle, Thomas, Will, and Nathan; one grand-niece: Anabelle; 13 cousins; five aunts and five uncles.
Although her death has left a hole in our collective hearts, we are sustained by our love of Jayne and for each other. Donations in Jayne’s memory can be made to the American Humane Society, the American Cancer Society, or your local food bank.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
