West Sioux freshman Jose Montes earned All-War Eagle Conference (WEC) honors with a ninth-place finish at the WEC meet.

Montes had a time of 19:14.7 on the course at Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City to best the Falcons’ efforts on Oct. 8.

Josue Arreola was 27th overall and the next West Sioux finisher with a time of 21:35.5.

Augie Jimenez was 28th overall in 21:53.8.

Cody Chester was 30th overall in 22:34.1.

Eddie Armenta was 32nd overall in 23:39.4.

The Falcons finished in fifth place of five full teams Monday.

West Sioux does not have a girls’ cross country team.
