County auditor’s offices open for absentee voting

Absentee voting for the Nov. 6 General Election is available now.

Sioux County

Voters can cast their absentee ballots at Sioux County Courthouse in Orange City. Hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Auditor’s Office.

Auditor Lois Huitink said there has been a great interest in absentee voting since Sept. 27, its first day, with 399 absentee voting ballots requested as of Oct. 3.

The Sioux County Auditor’s Office will be open for absentee voting on Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Sioux County Courthouse is located at 210 Central Avenue, SW., Orange City, call 712-737-2216.

Plymouth County

Plymouth County Saturday voting will be Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the courthouse, 215 Fourth St. SE, Le Mars.

Auditor Stacey Feldman said 1,600 people had inquired about absentee voting as of Oct. 3.

“We expect about 80 people will be working in the precincts on Election Day. They get training the Friday and Monday before,” said Feldman.

Akron: Satellite Polling Place

Akron Public Library will be a satellite voting location from 3 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 17. Voter registration forms will be available for new registrations or for current registered voters needing to make registration changes.

Kingsley will also have e a satellite polling place on Oct. 17.

Westfield Polling Place

Westfield Community Center will only be a polling place on the day of the General Election, Nov. 6, from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.


Brunsville Legion Hall will be open only 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., Nov. 6 as a polling place.
