In addition to Akron-Westfield’s 28-16 win over West Hancock in Britt and Hinton’s 14-10 win over West Lyon in Inwood, other Class A second round scores were, all Oct. 29:
Brooklyn 23, Lisbon 0; Logan Magnolia 41, Avoca 14; North Tama, Traer 35, Starmont 12; Wapsie Valley, Fairbank 48, Gladbrook-Reinbeck 16; Woodward-Granger 24, Griswold 13.
In the bracket opposite A-W and Hinton, Woodward Granger, 11-0 record, hosted Logan-Magnolia, 10-1 record Nov. 2. The winners square off in the Class A semifinals Nov. 9 at the UNI-Dome.
In another bracket, Wapsie Valley, Fairbank (11-0 record) hosts North Tama, Traer (10-1 record) and BGM Brooklyn, 9-2, is at Lynnville-Sully, 9-2, on Nov. 2. The winners clash in the other state semifinal game on Nov. 9 at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
Game times for Class 1A semifinals on Nov. 9 are 10:06 a.m. and 1:06 p.m. The state title game is 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 15.
