The West Sioux Community School District certified enrollment number for 2012-2013 school year is 733.1. That number was sent to the state and was official as of Oct. 15.
“We should get about $300,000 in additional Spending Authority,” said Shared Superintendent Randy Collins. He pointed out this is raised both locally and through the state.
This compares to 670 students for the actual enrollment figure for Fall, 2011-2012.
West Sioux submitted an actual enrollment figure of 733.1 students to the State of Iowa Department of Education for the 2012-2013 school year, compared to 670 students in 2011-2012.
“We’re extremely happy with that number of students. It is a reflection on the improvements we have made in technology and to the building and in the community and county. I don’t think you can say there was just one reason for it. We hope to make a continued effort for improvements,” said West Sioux Grades 6-12 Principal Ryan Kramer.
