Many of the 2012 Akron-Westfield football team received All-District honors.
Akron-Westfield senior Taylor James was named District No. 1 Most Valuable Player for offense. He was a standout running back for the Westerners’ 10-2 team.
A-W’s other All-District First Team selections were senior defensive lineman Chet Willer; senior offensive lineman Kyle Schroeder; senior defensive back Cory Eskra; senior linebacker Daniel Beitelspacher; junior defensive lineman Aaron Green; and junior wide receiver Chance Hoffman.
Second Team All-District for the Westerners: junior linebacker Cody Bosse and senior linebacker Cole Oltmanns.
Honorable Mention All-District honors went to junior defensive lineman John Wolthuizen and senior linebacker Chance Gant.
A-W All-District Academic selections were James, Willer, junior Jacob Bergman, junior Scott Garrett and senior manager Adam Kroksh.
Honorable Mention All-Academic honors were junior Jay Schoen, junior Alex Foley and Schroeder.
