One act plays provide an opportunity for individuals to participate and act on stage without investing the amount of time in preparation which is required for a role in a full length play.

The Akron Opera House is very fortunate to have loyal community members, such as Peoples Bank, step forward with financial help.

It is this sponsorship commitment along with loyal season ticket holders and other audience members who make it possible for the Akron Opera House Board to keep the doors open and the lights on.

Akron’s historic opera house is a treasure for this community and Northwest Iowa with its designation on the National Register of Historic Places.

The next production at Akron Opera House will be The Browns’ Christmas Show at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15.
