The Chicago Science/Art trip will take place on March 21-24 for Akron-Westfield advanced art and/or science students.

The school plans for students to leave on March 21 at 10:00 p.m. The students will then visit the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Hancock Tower Observation Deck, Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Art Institute, and see a play/dinner theatre.

The estimated cost is around $325 per student, teacher or chaperone. Students who meet the requirements and would like to go on the trip must fill out a form and pay a $125 deposit by December 20. The deposit will not be refunded unless a replacement is found.

The requirements to go on the trip are: the student must be a junior or senior at AW High School by the time of the trip. The student must have either six completed semester of Art with a C average and presently be enrolled in Art with a C average. The student must not be a mid-term graduate. The student can not have violated the Akron-Westfield Activity Policy within the previous 12 month period, and the student must behave as they would in a school setting.

If the number of students wanting to attend the trip exceed the bus capacity, then the selection of students will be based on a first come first serve basis.

To pick up a form, see Mr. Kim Meerdink or Mrs. Robin Dirks.
