Akron-Westfield’s boys basketball team saw its record drop to 0-5 on the season with a 67-28 loss at Remsen Union in War Eagle Conference play on the road Dec. 11.

Junior Nathan Sanchez led the Westerners with nine points.

Sophomore Jacob Neubrand had six points and five rebounds.

Senior Kyle Schroeder led the rebounds effort with nine.

The Rockets led 47-9 at halftime and that was all she wrote. A-W had a closer second half, a 20-19 deficit.

A-W battles at West Sioux in what should be a competitive contest for the rival teams on Dec. 18. (A “winnable” game was a poor choice of words in last week’s edition; West Sioux has a win to its credit, beating Alcester-Hudson last week.)
