Susan Meerdink and Alexander “Zan” Preston were married July 7, 2012, at the Rotary Reserve in Cedar Falls, IA.
Susan’s sisters, Rebecca Meerdink and Emily Meerdink, were her bridesmaids and her friend, Laura Dawson, was Susan’s maid of honor. Flower girls were Grace Davison and Genevieve Power, nieces of the groom.
Zan was attended by Tom Power, his brother-in-law, and his friend, Zachary Dawson, while his friend, Chris Powell, served as best man. Ring bearers were Preston Davison and Hunter Kaufman, nephews of the groom.
Zan’s father, Rev. Del Preston, officiated the wedding. Special music was provided by the Willie and Jennifer Rosin family, cousins of the bride. Parents of the bride are Kim and Dee Meerdink, Hawarden. Parents of the groom are Del and Kristine Preston, Eldridge, IA, and Michele Fetterley, Bettendorf, IA.
The couple honeymooned at Lake Okoboji. They currently live in Santa Barbara, CA, where Susan is attending the University of California – Santa Barbara as a graduate student studying geography. Zan is employed at the University of California – Santa Barbara as a computer programmer.
