Falcons ready to honor hoops seniors Feb. 5

West Sioux boys’ basketball team lost a 71-23 decision to Sioux Falls, S.D. Roosevelt Rough Riders at a tournament in Alcester-Hudson Jan. 12.

Braedon Petersen led the Falcons with nine points. Mason Ericson led the Falcons with six rebounds. Jesus Rivera had five caroms.

West Sioux had a 3-14 overall record following a 67-26 loss to South O’Brien Jan. 22.

WS vs. SOS – Jan. 11 West Sioux lost a 58-29 War Eagle Conference game to South O’Brien at home on Jan. 11. Petersen was the leading Falcons’ scorer with 11 points, and Ericson was next with nine.

A 13-2 Wolverines’ run to start the second half decided this one.

WS will host Hinton on Feb. 1 in a girls-boys WEC doubleheader.

It will be Senior Night at the WS gym at 6:00 p.m., Feb. 5 with girls’ game first on Feb. 1 as the Falcons host Gehlen Catholic. Senior basketball team members are Marienau, Tapper, Petersen and Kembi Kooi. Game time is 6:00 pm.

West Sioux concludes the regular boys’ season at Akron-Westfield with junior varsity-varsity boys contests at 6:00 p.m., Feb. 8.
