West Sioux girls’ basketball team gained its 11th win of the season with a 53-42 victory against Remsen-St. Mary’s in War Eagle Conference play Jan. 25.
Senior Jade Lynn Vlotho, who topped the 1,000-point career scoring mark the game before, scored 25 points to lead the way. She made 7-for-13 floor shots, missed one three-pointer, and was 11-for-15 from the free-throw line. She completed a “triple double” of statistics with 10 rebounds. She also had two blocked shots and one steal.
Sophomore Rylee Negaard contributed 10 points, 3-of-4 all field goal tries, 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. She also had three assists and three steals.
Sophomore Callie Schmidt was next with six points on 3-for-5 shooting, two rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot.
The Lady Falcons used a 12-5 third quarter run to turn the game in their favor.
The win bolstered the Lady Falcons’ record to 11-6 overall.
“It was a good team effort,” said WS Basketball Coach Dennis Weerheim.

West Sioux lost to Scotland, S.D., at the Tri-Valley Tournament Jan. 26, 46-43, at Alcester-Hudson, for an 11-7 overall mark.
