Individual Event Speech practices have started at AW

Individual Event Speech is well underway at AW. Categories and selections have been chosen and rehearsal dates set.

Students involved in Individual Event Speech will compete at districts on Saturday February 23, at AW. State contest will be held Saturday, March 9, at Algona High School.

This year AW has a team of 21 students competing in 24 entries, with 3 students performing pieces in two categories.

The categories that the students are competing in are as follows:

Prose: Alex Franker, Maggi Liebetrau, Carla Robinson, and Anastasia Hoffer.

Literary Program: Maddison Martinac, Lexi Hageman, and Kali Kriener.

Public Address: Ryleigh Schnell, Adam Kroksh, and Hannah Koele.

Review: Alec Heeren.

Musical Theater: Eliza Kjar.

Improv: Jaclyn Smith.

Storytelling: Cali Westergard, Jessen Wood, and Maddison Martinac.

Poetry: Kristen Foley, Kellie O’Byrne, and Katie Black.

Expository Address: Cali Westergard, Hunter Armstrong, and Emily Meerdink.
