Akron-Westfield boys’ basketball team lost to Hinton, 76-39, in a War Eagle Conference home game Feb. 5.
Tavian Banks scored 11 points to lead the way for the Westerners. He made all three of his three-point shots.
Chance Hoffman had nine points, and Caleb Colt had seven. Colt had a three-point basket.
Hoffman led in rebounds with eight. Nathan Sanchez had four points and four steals.
Schroeder, Joel Brenner and Alex Foley all had two points.
A-W trailed only 14-8 after one quarter but Hinton had a 45-16 run in the second and third quarters to pull away.
A-W, 2-18 overall record, made 16-of-41 all field goal attempts and 4-of-9 from three-point range. A-W was 3-of-8 from the free-throw line.
A-W readied for two games with West Sioux (3-18 overall record) in the regular season finale Feb. 8 and in the Class 1A regional Feb. 11 there.
