Three Akron-Westfield teachers applied for Early Retirement benefits and submitted their resignations, effective this summer.

At their Feb. 11 meeting, the Akron-Westfield School Board unanimously approved both benefits and resignations for the three.

Retiring are Sandra Miller-Hall, Mary Jane Tapper and Pam Von Hagel.

This year they are teaching the following:

• Tapper: Spanish II and Spanish IV, English 9, Advanced English 11, seventh grade Language Arts and sixth grade Speech Exploratory.

• Miller-Hall: three-fourths time Middle School Special Education teacher and one-fourth time school librarian.

• Von Hagel: Spanish I, Spanish II and Spanish III; eighth grade Language Arts, English II, and English-Language Arts Independent Study (Journalism).
