A-W girls basketball final 2012-2013 statistics

Akron-Westfield girls’ basketball team completed an 8-15 record for the 2012-2013 season. The Lady Westerners were 3-7 in War Eagle Conference games. They were 1-1 in the Class 1A playoffs, beating Siouxland Christian 58-29 but losing to Gehlen Catholic 31-26 to end their season.

Junior Dana Hedlund of the Lady Westerners was named WEC honorable mention.

A statistical look at the A-W girls’ hoops season:

Dana Hedlund was the leading scorer with 151 points, 6.6 points per game average, on 58 of 205 all field goal attempts, twos and threes, 15 of 60 three-point field goal attempts only and 20 of 31 free throw attempts, best in all three categories. She had 97 rebounds, a team-best 47 assists, a team-best 56 steals and four blocked shots.

Kayla Tindall, a junior, contributed 137 points, 6.0 points per game average, on 51 of 160 all field goal attempts, 7 of 26 three-point field goal attempts only, 28 of 49 free throw attempts, a team-best 173 rebounds; also had 32 assists, 25 steals and five blocked shots.

Sarah Schroeder, a junior, had 135 points, 5.9 points per game average, 55 of 136 all field goal attempts all twos, 25 of 42 free throw attempts, 94 rebounds, 16 assists, 16 steals and a team-best 24 blocked shots.

Haley Coyle, the only senior, had 115 points, 5.0 points per game, on 40 of 133 all field goal attempts, 9 of 32 three-point field goal attempts only, 26 of 47 free throw attempts. She had 63 rebounds, 27 assists, 17 steals and 3 blocked shots.

Bethany Eastman, a junior, scored 96 points, 4.6 points per game average, on 39 of 99 all field goal attempts, all twos, 18 of 35 free throw attempts. She had 99 rebounds, 7 assists, 12 steals and 11 blocked shots.

Jordan Hansen, a junior, had 73 points for 3.2 points per game average on 27 of 102 all field goal attempts, 3 of 21 three-point field goal attempts only, 16 of 33 free throw attempts. She had 27 rebounds, 33 assists, 42 steals and 2 blocked shots.

Kortney Hedlund, a sophomore, had 45 points, 2.1 points per game average, on 17 of 61 all field goal attempts, 2 of 15 three-point field goal attempts only, 9 of 16 free throw attempts, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, 8 steals.

Jacynda Banks, a junior, had 42 points, 2.0 points per game average, on 18 of 50 all field goal attempts, 3 of 9 three-point field goal attempts only, 3 of 7 free throw attempts, 24 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots.

Cali Westergard, a sophomore, had 10 points, 0.7 points per game average, on 5 of 18 all field goal attempts, all twos, 0 of 2 free throw attempts, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.

Sam Johnson, a freshman, had 2 points, 0.1 points per game average, on 1 of 12 all field goal attempts, 0 of 6 three point field goal attempts only, 2 rebounds.

Hannah K. Koele , a freshman, had 2 points, 2.0 points per game average, on 1 of 4 all field goal attempts, 2 rebounds.

Ryleigh Schnell, a sophomore, had 0 of 2 all field goal attempts, 0 of 2 free throw attempts, 2 rebounds.

Katie Johnson, freshman, no statistics.

Team: 8087 points, 35.1 points per game average, 312 of 982 all field goal attempts, 39 of 169 three-point field goal attempts, 145 of 264 free throw attempts, 604 rebounds, 180 steals, 53 blocked shots.
