It’s been a busy time for test taking at West Sioux School District for Grades 2-11.
At West Sioux Middle and High School, Grades 6-11 took tests in Reading, Math and Science for Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED).
“We have a block of time at the beginning of the day for tests and have a late-start schedule,” said Principal Ryan Kramer, adding the results are sent back to schools in about four to six weeks and used for curriculum development and course selection.
Students in Grades 2-5 also took tests in Math, Science and Social Studies. The last day for test was Feb. 8 for Iowa Tests of Basic Skills.
“All teachers work with students on the preparation for the tests and they are taken in blocks of time,” said West Sioux Elementary School Principal Carrie Thonstad.
