Just when people thought the local sports seasons were finished comes the most entertaining basketball game of the year.
The Akron-Westfield FFA is hosting a doubleheader donkey extravaganza this Friday night, March 1.
It’s basketball played on real live donkeys, and it will be wilder than a rodeo and funnier than a circus.
Leading the antics will be “Buckmaster, the world famous comedy donkey — 500 pounds of pure dynamite. He’s rough and tough and hard to bluff. Riders beware — he hasn’t been ridden yet. Buckmaster is just one of the donkeys in this fun-filled show, organized by Dairyland Donkey Ball LLC of Chippewa Falls, Wis.
All local players will be riding so come out and see someone you know try to ride a donkey and play basketball at the same time.
The teams are FFA Officers vs. Teachers/Community Members and High School Students vs. FFA Members:
• FFA Officers: Dana Hedlund, Adam Kroksh, Randy Kroksh, Emily Meerdink, Kellie O’Byrne, Kayla Tindall and Chet Willer. Their coach is Dominick Foley.
