Those in ‘Top 5’ recognized at WEC Academic Banquet

Annually, the War Eagle Conference honors student athletes who are in the Top 5 Percent of their classes academically.

On March 19, Akron-Westfield juniors and seniors had the opportunity to attend the WEC Academic Banquet at Spalding Catholic School in Granville.

Although they don’t attend the banquet, freshmen and sophomores received certificates of accomplishment for being in the Top 5 Percent.

Akron-Westfield students receiving this honor were:

Freshmen

Tabitha Banks, Caleb Colt, Trisha Frerichs, Jackson Gereau, Anastasia Hoffer, Katelyn Johnson, Kane Lininger, Brenden Moore, Matthew Toben and Tyler Waterbury.

Sophomores

Hunter Armstrong, Chandra DeRocher, Alex Franker, Kortney Hedlund, Kali Kriener, Desirae Oltmanns and Ryleigh Schnell.

Juniors

Katherine “Katie” Black, Mariah Grimm, Dana Hedlund, Emily Meerdink, Sarah Schroeder and Kayla Tindall.

Seniors

Robyn Peinke and Katlyn Mace.
