Plymouth County supervisors approved two bids following bid lettings April 2 for two projects.
Gus Construction of Casey, Iowa, won for a box culvert installation at 130th Street east of County Road K-22. Its bid was for $154,900.44.
There were four bidders and the Gus bid beat the second place bid of $161,761 of Christensen Brothers of Cherokee.
Plymouth County Engineer Tom Rohe said the firm has done work replacing box culverts in the past in Plymouth County. A contract will be considered after unit prices are checked.
Graves Construction of Spencer won the bid for the precast concrete deck panel bridge placement at 120th Street east of K-18 North, northeast of Akron. There were four bidders for this project with only a small amount separating the second and third-place bidders. Graves’ bid was for $95,409.
In another matter Rohe was expected to present his five-year plan for the county road department work on April 9’s supervisors meeting.
