A little bit of all the seasons awaited athletes and track and field fans alike at the Kingsley-Pierson/ Woodbury Central hosted meet April 8 in Kingsley.

For those who prefer shorts and short sleeves, no problem, just be there for the first few events.

Spring and fall-like conditions were represented in the middle of the meet.

And if one actually likes wind and winter weather with an impending ice storm looming, stick around for the final events last Monday.

Senior Garrett Wall provided the Westerners with their highlight as he won the 1,600-Meter Run race with a time of 5:03.30. He was second in the 3,200-Meter Run with 10:52.40.

A-W Coach Kent Johnson said those were both good times for early in the year.

The 4×200-Meter Relay quartet of Daniel Beitelspacher, Cody Bosse, Sam Mace and Nathan Sanchez ended runner-up with a 1:42.17 time.

The 4×100-Meter Relay squad of Beitelspacher, Bosse, Mace and Chance Hoffman was second in 47.1 seconds.

The A-W Shuttle Hurdle Relay of Daniel Dirks, Hoffman, Mace and Dylan Blinde ended fourth with a time of 1:07.50.

Blinde was fourth in the 400-Meter Low Hurdles in 1:04.20.

The 4×800-Meter Relay team of Mike Peinke, Shawn Taylor, Kane Lininger and Spenser Wardrip had a time of 9:45.10.

A-W’s Medley Relay team of Bosse, Hoffman, Sanchez and Wall ended fourth but no time was available.

Hoffman finished fifth in the High Jump with an effort of 5 feet 8 inches. Alex Wilken of the Westerners was sixth with a 5’8”.

The 4×400-Meter Relay team of Lininger, Peinke, Taylor and Wall was fifth but their time wasn’t available.
