West Sioux girls’ track and field team had several strong individual showings at Hinton’s meet on April 16.
For the Lady Falcons, Rylee Negaard finished first in the 200-Meter Run and second in the 100-Meter Run. Negaard’s times were 13.75 seconds in the 100-Meter run and 29.04 seconds in the 200-Meter Run.
Amanda Mace was fifth in the 400-Meter Run, time not available, and second in the 800-Meter Run in 3:10.17.
Callie Schmidt was sixth in the 200-Meter Run (time not available).
“It was a pretty good meet for us. We’re having some people compete in different events. If anyone else wishes to come out, they would be welcome. We’re trying to get better for the end of the year,” said West Sioux Coach Dennis Weerheim.
Competing in the “B” Class, the Lady Falcons had 23 team points.
The Lady Falcons were at West Lyon’s meet April 23. West Sioux will host a girls and boys meet April 25, a postponed meet, as well as its invitational on May 2.
The War Eagle Conference boys’ and girls’ track and field meets will be at West Sioux, starting at 4:00 p.m. on April 30.
There were no boys’ track and field meets for the Falcons last week.
