The detour is now in place for the bridge replacement project over Six Mile Creek on Iowa Highway 12 near Chatsworth, according to Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City Office.

During this construction project, traffic is being detoured around the work zone using Iowa Highway 10, Plymouth-Sioux County Road K-18 N and Plymouth County Road C-12.

The project, done by Dixon Construction of Correctionville, is expected to be completed by Nov. 15.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic violations for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
