A-W girls track squad competes in Hull

Akron-Westfield girls’ track and field team had some solid individual efforts and relays as the season resumed at the Boyden-Hull Nighthawk Relays April 26. A-W scored nine team points.

The 4×100-Meter Relay team of Robyn Peinke, Jaclyn Smith, Katie Coyle and Katie Johnson placed fifth with a time of 55.5 seconds.

Desi Oltmanns, a sophomore, had a strong effort in the High Jump. She placed fifth with a leap of 4 feet, 8 inches.

“She also runs a relay but her main focus is on the High Jump,” said Akron-Westfield Head Coach Eric Walkingstick.

The Shuttle Hurdle Relay of Trisah Frerichs, Sydney Pridie, Taylor Myers and Alex Franker placed fifth with a time of 1:28.17.

Lexi Hageman of A-W placed fifth in the 800-Meter Run with a time of 2:48.7.

Katie Johnson placed sixth in the 100-Meter Dash with a time of 13.64 seconds.
