student reporter

Daniel Dirks, son of Rick and Robin Dirks, was born January 4, 1994.

Daniel has three older siblings, sisters Megan, Kristin, and Jordan.

Daniel is sometimes called “Dirksy” by his friends.

Daniel’s favorite sport is football; his favorite movie is We Were Soldiers; his favorite musicians are any kind of rock musician; and his favorite saying is anything that Mr. Dan Utesch has said.

“Dirksy’s” favorite childhood memory is going on a family trip to Yellowstone National Park.

When Daniel was little, he imagined himself as a dog sled racer in Alaska.

Daniel’s favorite pastimes include fishing, hiking, and hanging out with Cole Oltmanns.

“Dirksy” has way too many favorite memories to name just one.

Daniel is currently employed by the city of Akron.

If Daniel could relive one moment of his life, it would his last football game or wrestling match of his senior year.

The person who has inspired Daniel the most is his Grandpa Haug because he was a good, hardworking, and honest man.

“Dirksy’s” greatest achievements are becoming a member of the National Honor Society and making it to State Wrestling.

While in high school, Daniel has been involved in football, wrestling, and track.

What “Dirksy” liked most about high school were his friends and the great AW staff.

If Daniel could give any advice to underclassmen, it would be, “Don’t waste time! Enjoy every minute of high school because time flies.”

“Dirksy’s” favorite excuse for not turning in his homework on time is, “I must have left it in a different folder.” His favorite excuse for being tardy is, “I was helping a teacher; they said to call if there’s a problem.”

While in high school, Daniel’s favorite class has been Psychology with Mrs. Jodi Richey because he found it rather interesting.

After high school, Daniel plans to attend college.
