The visiting Remsen-St. Mary’s Hawks proved to be a very formidable opponent as A-W won 4-0, but it wasn’t really easy.
It was a game that started 10 days ago and finished on June 11. A-W won behind the pitching of Kayla Tindall who gave up four hits but also struck out 15 Hawk hitters.
A-W started again by scoring three times in the first after two were out. Kortney Hedlund singled, Haley Coyle walked, Bailey Davis doubled, and Jaclyn Smith got on by a Hawk error. A-W had three runs.
A-W scored one more run in the third as Davis got on by an error, stole second, then was driven home by Smith.
The Hawks did not have much luck against Tindall except for Miranda Staab, who had half of St. Mary’s hits as she doubled twice, but was left stranded at second. Tindall was in complete command as she was throwing very hard with pretty good control.
A-W’s record now stands at 14-1.
