Joyce Cecelia Molzen Peck of Joplin, MO, formerly of Akron and Sioux City, Iowa passed away at Thursday, May 9, 2013 at her home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Pastor Michael Ring of Glad Tidings Lighthouse in South Sioux City, NE will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family will follow the service during a time of fellowship at the funeral home. Joyce Cecelia Molzen Peck was born Oct. 11, 1931 in Le Mars, IA, the daughter of John Henry Molzen and Francis Jacobina (Oetken) Molzen. She had lived in Westfield, Akron and Sioux City, Iowa before moving to Joplin. She retired from Interbake Foods. She loved her family and enjoyed her grandkids. She was an avid yard worker and liked Gospel music. She enjoyed tending to her dogs, Gracie Allen and Pepé LePew.
She married Robert Walter Peck on May 1, 1948 in Le Mars, Iowa. He passed away on Feb. 19, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Reed and husband Randy of Pocatello, ID; a son, Timothy Eldon Peck and wife Norma of Joplin; a son-in-law: Rod Solomon of Westfield, IA; brothers: Eldon Molzen who passed away May 15, 2013, Ronald Molzen, Colin Molzen, and Gary Molzen; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and special friend and neighbor, Sue Pequignot.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a son, David Peck; a daughter, Amy Joann Solomon; a sister: Ruth Molzen; and brother: Stanley Molzen.
