WS tops HMS for winning loop mark

West Sioux softball team entered the post-season on a strong note following a 6-2 win at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn on July 3 in a War Eagle Conference game.

The Lady Falcons were 11-15 record after the win, 11-10 in WEC games.

West Sioux took a 4-0 lead after two innings and added two more runs in the sixth.

Jaylen Blankenship, Bailey VanDenBerg and Rylee Negaard were all 2-for-4 and Amanda Mace was 2-for-3.

Blankenship added two runs scored, a triple and a stolen base.

VanDenBerg had two RBIs and one stolen base.

Negaard scored one run, had one RBI and one stolen base.

Carissa Anderson was 1-for-4 with one run scored and one stolen base.

Calie Peterson was 1-for-4 with one run scored.

The Lady Falcons had 11 hits and six stolen bases.

Courtney Hummel picked up the pitching win as she gave up seven hits, two walks and struck out six.
