RSM edges Falcons to end regular season

West Sioux’s baseball team ended the regular season with a 6-16 record after a 5-2 loss to War Eagle Conference foe Remsen – St. Mary’s in a July 8 home game.

The Hawks scored three runs in the first inning and two in the fourth frame.

For the Falcons Jett Boyer was 2-for-3 with one run scored and one walk for the Falcons.

Justin Stoltenburg was 2-for-3.

Mitch Schlumbohm had an RBI.

Kezden Blankenship was 1-for-3 with one run scored and a stolen base.

Braedon Petersen, the Falcons’ lone senior playing in his final home game, was 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The Falcons had seven hits and two walks.

In pitching Porter Hummel pitched for five innings and took the loss. He gave up five hits, two walks and struck out six. Petersen worked for two innings on the mound and surrendered one walk.
