Two West Sioux softball players were named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Class 1A Northwest team.
Senior center fielder Jaylen Blankenship and sophomore catcher Rylee Negaard were both named to the team.
Blankenship was 32-for-88 at-bats with 29 runs scored. She had 12 RBIs, six doubles, one triple, five walks, 12 strikeouts, was 25-for-26 stolen base attempts, two hit by pitches,hit 0.411 on-base percentage; 0.455 slugging percentage and 0.364 batting average.
Negaard was 29-for-82 at-bats with 19 runs scored; had seven doubles and one triple; slugged three home runs; had one sacrifice; six walks; 12 strikeouts and was 12-for-13 stolen base attempts; 0.398 on-base percentage; 0.573 slugging percentage and had a 0.354 batting average.
The Falcons had a 12-16 record.
