The Albert E. Hoschler American Legion Post No. 186 is creating a veterans’ memorabilia display at the Legion Hall, located at Fourth and Reed Streets.

“We are asking people to donate items such as military service uniforms, veterans’ equipment, telegrams they received, ration stamps, letters home, newspaper clippings — anything related to veterans’ military service during war years,” said Post Commander Warren Thompson.

Local legionnaires are emphasizing items from the World Wars, Korean War and Vietnam War, he added.

Anyone with items to donate for the display, which will be created in the Legionnaires’ upstairs rooms at the Legion Hall, are asked to contact Veterans’ Display Coordinators Earl Hilliker, 712-253-7663 or Bill Rabey, 568-2661.
