There are plenty of pumpkins to choose from at Diane’s Pumpkin Patch.

Diane’s Pumpkin Patch is open for the season and there are plenty of pumpkins to go around. The patch is located five miles north of Akron on Hwy 12 and seven miles east on County road C-12.

“We got very timely rains this year and the hot spell for a couple of weeks helped,” said owner Diane Ten Napel.

The pumpkin patch, in its 10th year, may be aided by the Iowa Highway 12 detour on County Road C-12 in between Akron and Hawarden. Sept. 28-29 was the first weekend this year.

Plenty of other seasonal items plus some farm animals are attractions as well.

Several school groups and senior citizen outings have been booked.

Hours of Diane’s Pumpkin Patch are 4 to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday.
