Daryl E. Frisk of Gaeta, Italy, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, due to cancer at a Hospice Unit located near Gaeta. Services were held in Gaeta on Oct. 1 with burial in Gaeta later.
Daryl was born on March 16, 1949, in Akron. He was the son of J. Alvin and Phyllis (Johnson) Frisk. He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron by Rev. David J. Roy. He attended Hoyt and West Union schools in Union County, S.D. and graduated from Akron High School in 1967. He then attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D., and graduated from there in 1971. He was married to Jan Koch of Sioux Falls in 1970. Upon graduation, he was inducted into the United States Air Force and was stationed at the Whiteman Air Force Base near Warrensburg, MO, as a Lieutenant and Commander at the Missile Site located there. He received his Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Missouri while stationed there. Following his four years of service, he moved to the Chicago area and worked until later being transferred to Princeton, NJ, and then worked as a Senior Consultant for IBM. He married Assunta Parella in 1990 and lived in Yardley, PA. He took an early retirement in 2008 because of ill health and in 2009 they moved to Gaeta.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, Assunta Parella in Gaeta; his son, Alan (Mevljuda) of Stockholm, Sweden; his daughters, Jaclyn (Shawn) Dylla of Apple Valley, MN, and Rachel (Kevin) Dwyer of Plymouth, MN; his grandchildren: Benjamin and Harris Frisk, Stockholm; Hailey and Sawyer Dylla and Genevieve Dwyer in Minnesota; stepson, Anthony Daniels in Italy, and stepdaughter, Kathryn Araiza in Arizona; his mother, Phyllis Frisk of Akron; his brother, Douglas (Deborah) Frisk of Rapid City, SD; his aunt, Alta Johnson, Akron; his nephew, David (Jenn) Frisk; his niece, Heather (Rick) Sidle, Rapid City, as well as many other close relatives and friends in the states and in Italy.
Those preceding him in death were his father, J. Alvin Frisk, his sister, Kathryn Frisk, his stepson, John Daniels and his grandparents, John and Anna Frisk and Emil and Hulda Johnson, as well as several aunts and uncles. Peace be to his memory!
