The Akron-Westfield freshmen football team faced Le Mars Community at home on September 12th.
Austin Allard was first to put up a score with a 53-yard interception for a touchdown; the 2-point conversion was unsuccessful. LeMars had a 5-yard run and attempted for 2 points but it was no good. Aaron Allard had a 22-yard touchdown reception from Kyle Johnson, which tied the score at 12 to 12. Zac Eyer recovered a fumble for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion failed. The final score was A-W 18, LeMars 12.
Leading the A-W offense was Kyle Johnson with 9 rushes for 17-yards, he also was 9 for 16 passing with 144 yards, 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions. Tristin Golden had 19 yards rushing on 11 carries. Jayden Harms had 13 yards rushing. Austin Allard caught 2 passes for 52 yards. Aaron Allard caught 3 passes for 69 yards and 1 touchdown. Tristin Golden passed for 4 yards. Ty DeRocher passed for 6 yards.
Leading the A-W defense was Montana Jackson, 8 tackles and 1 sack; Tristin Golden, 8 tackles. Ty DeRocher, Aaron Allard, and Charlie Anderson all added 7 tackles. Sebastian Berg had 7 tackles and 1 sack. Jayden Harms and Kane Martinac had 6 tackles. Austin Allard had an interception for 53-yard touchdown. Zac Eyer had 4 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown.
