Absentee ballots are now available for those voters who plan to be absent for the upcoming Regular Municipal Election to be held in Hawarden, Ireton and Chatsworth on Nov. 5.
A qualified voter may come to the Auditor’s Office in Orange City to personally cast his or her vote. For absentee voting purposes, the Auditor’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 4, at 4:30 p.m., is the deadline to vote an absentee ballot in person at the Auditor’s Office for Hawarden and Ireton elections.
Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m., is the deadline to vote an absentee ballot in person at the Auditor’s Office for Chatsworth.
A qualified voter may also request an absentee ballot in writing but it must be on an Iowa Official Absentee request form. This form is available on the Sioux County web page at www.siouxcounty.org under the Auditor page.
Each voter must use a separate form. Those voted ballots can either be mailed back or returned personally. All ballots returned by mail must be postmarked before Election Day. The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is 5 p.m., Nov. 1.
