A-W JV Gets Big Win

On Monday, October 7, the JV Westerner football team won over Elk Point- Jefferson with a score of 28-6.

Scoring first for A-W was Dylan Irizarry with a 10-yard touchdown run followed by a successful 2-point conversion. Irizarry continued the scoring with an 11-yard run, but unfortunately the 2-point conversion was unsuccessful. The score was A-W 14, EPJ 0. Dylan Blinde had a 33-yard interception for a touchdown but the 2-point conversion was no good. EPJ fired back with a 41-yard touchdown run but did not make the 2-point conversion. Irizarry finished off for the Westerners with a 9-yard touchdown run and a good 2-point conversion. The final score stood at A-W 28, EPJ 6.

Leading the Westerner offense was Irizarry with 20 carries for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cal Eskra followed with 7 carries for 20 yards, Zach Bosse had 3 carries for 7 yards, and Tristin Golden had 5 carries for 15 yards.

Quarterback Cal Eskra passed 6 for 13 for 108 yards.

Leading the A-W defense was Aaron Allard with 7 tackles. Andy Bowman had 6 tackles and 1 sack, Montana Jackson had 6 tackles, Spenser Wardrip had 5 tackles, Dylan Blinde had 2 tackles and 2 interceptions, and Tyler Waterbury had 1 interception.
