Maggi YiJu Liebetrau, daughter of Steve and Laurie Liebetrau was born May 16, 1996 in Nanning, China.
Maggi has two siblings, Audrey and Ben.
Maggi’s nickname is “Mags.”
Maggis’s favorite childhood memory was spending time with her dad teaching her to fish.
She caught 28 fish, while he caught none because he was too busy taking fish off her line. “Mags’s” favorite sport is watching olympic swimming.
Maggi’s favorite pastimes include listening to music, reading, and hanging out with family and friends.
“Mags’s favorite movies are “Pitch Perfect” and “She’s the Man”, while her favorite musicians are Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Maroon 5, and Blake Shelton.
Maggi’s favorite saying is “Good try though!”
The person who inspired Maggi the most is her mom, because she inspires her every day to be an honest and open person.
Maggi’s most memorable moment was going on school trips and having fun with friends. If “Mags” could relive one moment in her life it would be going to China with her mom freshmen year and meeting her foster parents.
When Maggi was younger she imagined herself as a professional singer or a Rockette. Maggi is currently unemployed.
Maggi’s greatest achievements have been going to all-state for individual speech, going to China on a Heritage tour through her adoption agency, being chosen to represent Union County for the Rural Electric Coop Tour in Washington, D.C., being chosen to represent the legion at Girls State 2013, and going to nationals for National History Day in the 6th grade.
Maggi has no regrets about high school because it’s been a good experience for her. While in high school Maggi has been involved in band, choir, speech, and plays. What Maggi likes most about high school is being with friends everyday and being in classes with Mr. Baker and Mr. Johnson.
“Mags’s” has had so may embarrassing moments that they aren’t that embarrassing anymore.
Maggi has no excuse for being tardy because she’s always on time, she also has no excuse for not turning in her homework on time because she always has it done.
If Maggi could give any advice to underclassmen, it would be to do your homework on time and have fun because high school ends too soon.
While in high school “Mags’s” favorite class was student aiding with Mrs. Serck because she enjoys working with the kids and she also learned a lot about what it takes to be a teacher.
After high school Maggi plans on going to Northern State University and majoring in Elementary Education.
