Amelia M. Henrich of Akron, Iowa passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Akron Care Center in Akron, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Doug Klein and Deacon Richard Port officiating. Interment followed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Akron. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the family present to greet friends after 5:00 p.m. followed by a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. and Parish Rosary to follow. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Brad Henrich, Jerrod Henrich, Don Hoffman, Rick Hoffman, Jim Hoffman, Mike Brown, Chad Brown, Nick Schoenfelder, and Ryan Schoenfelder. Honorary casket bearers were her granddaughters, Jodi Schutt, Irene Hoffman, Sharon Anliker, Lisa Koch, Mary Brandt, Marcie Ziniel, Shelly Ziniel, Kim McCleary, Sandi Grover, and Wendi Bogard.

Amelia Mae Lambert was born November 6, 1918 in Akron, Iowa to John H. and Lyma M. (Harkness) Lambert. She was baptized into the Methodist faith. Amelia attended Sayles Country School. Amelia was united in marriage to John W. Henrich on March 28, 1939 at Akron. The couple farmed south east of Akron in Westfield Township for many years until John passed away on July 5, 1990. Amelia continued to live on the farm for a couple of years before moving to Akron.

Amelia was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Women’s League. She and John enjoyed square dancing and danced with the Country Cousins of Le Mars and the Dudes and Dolls from Elk Point, SD. She was also a member of the Akron Lion’s Club and enjoyed gardening, embroidery, baking, and fishing. Her greatest enjoyment was her family.

Survivors include her children: Jim Henrich and his wife Kay of Akron, Kathleen Johns of Burlington, IA, Charlotte Beeck and her husband Emil of Akron, JoAnn Ziniel and her husband John of Akron, and Susan Brown and her husband Bob of Akron; 2 sons-in-law, Don Gimberline of Freeborn, MN and Ed Schoenfelder of Westfield; 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Lambert and his wife Virginia of Brunsville and John Lambert and his wife Betty of Brunsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Lyma M. (Harkness) Lambert; husband John W. Henrich; two daughters, Jackie Gimberline and Kay Schoenfelder; two brothers, William in infancy and Robert Lambert; a sister in infancy, Rose Lambert; and a son-in-law, Art Johns.
