Dec. 13: The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Dipper Avenue, two miles west of Ireton.
Ernesto Soto, age 24, of Hawarden, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on Dipper Avenue. Mark Barinsky, age 59, of Hawarden, was driving a 2010 Ford F150 pulling a Kaufman flatbed trailer northbound on Dipper Avenue. Soto crossed the center of the roadway and struck Barinsky’s trailer.
No injuries were reported.
The Chevrolet sustained about $2,500 in damages. The trailer sustained about $2,000 in damages.
Soto was cited for failing to yield half of the roadway.
In another incident
Ernesto Soto, age 24, of Hawarden, was arrested and faces charges from Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 16. According to the Sheriff’s Office arrest log, Soto was charged with the following possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine; operation while intoxicated, first; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. The arrest was in Hawarden.
